If you work in healthcare then you are likely aware of the Allscripts ransomware issue that happened around January 18th 2018. The full scope of the issue is not currently known, but Allscripts publicly notified their customers that they are in fact dealing with a ransomware issue.

As of Saturday January 20th most services were back online, however Allscripts PRO EHR was still down for some customers. If your EHR is down, then you are dead in the water. This video is an attempt to answer the following questions.

  1. What are the different types of system disasters and how does the recovery process differ?
  2. Why is it taking so long to recover from a ransomware virus?
  3. Is it safe and reliable to host your server with a software vendor like Allscripts?

This is a fairly brief video that only covers these high level topics. If you have any questions or would like to learn how ArcLight can help your organization feel free to reach us at www.algsys.com
